Taxonomy
Type specimen of the plant cultivated from seed somewhere in Nepal is lost. An evergreen monocarpic species; long petioles do occur in M. napaulensis and possibly this species is not a separate entity. Ref. Curtis Botanical Magazine (2002) 23,176.
