Taken in 2010 at Zokshyam, Karma Valley, Tibet. Typical of many M. grandis even in cultivation is the mauve colour. It is still far from clear how much soil influences the colour but many of this and M. betonicifolia stay this colour even if surrounded by forms that flower a pure blue.
